Take-Two Investor Predicts $80 GTA 6 Price Tag as Trailer 3 and Pre-Orders Loom

GTA 6 Price Could Be $80 as Pre-Orders Approach, Investor Predicts New Trailer May Follow

Grand Theft Auto 6 is once again at the center of gaming and stock market attention, as Take-Two Interactive shares climbed after Rockstar Games confirmed the start date for GTA 6 pre-orders. With reservations expected to open on June 25, investors and fans are now watching closely to see how pricing, special editions, and possible new footage could shape the next major moment in the game’s rollout.

According to Jefferies Financial Group, a major Take-Two shareholder, the standard GTA 6 edition is most likely to launch at $80. The firm believes this price point is the most realistic expectation for the base version of Rockstar’s highly anticipated open-world crime game, though it has not ruled out the possibility of a $70 entry price.

The final GTA 6 price could have a major impact on how players respond when pre-orders go live. It may also influence Take-Two’s stock performance, especially after the company already saw strong investor confidence following the pre-order date announcement. Shares reportedly rose again by nearly 5% the next day, showing how closely the market is tied to Rockstar’s next moves.

An $80 base price would place GTA 6 among the most expensive standard-edition releases in the modern gaming market. However, given the massive scale of the project, years of anticipation, and Rockstar’s track record with blockbuster launches, many analysts believe players may still be willing to pay a premium.

Special editions are also expected to play a major role in the launch strategy. Deluxe, premium, or collector’s editions could include extra story content, cosmetic items, digital bonuses, or early incentives. If the standard version is priced at $70 instead of $80, the more expensive editions could become even more attractive to dedicated fans.

One major question is how Rockstar will handle online content. GTA 6 is not expected to launch with its multiplayer component on November 19, but premium editions may offer clues about future online features. Jefferies suggested that Rockstar could include in-game currency for online use, though it is also possible that launch bonuses will focus only on the single-player campaign.

The long-term financial success of GTA 6 will likely depend on more than just launch sales. Rockstar’s approach to post-launch content, online monetization, and recurring player spending could become a major driver of revenue for Take-Two in the years after release. Given the enormous success of GTA Online, investors are paying close attention to how the next game will build on that model.

Fans are also hoping that GTA 6 pre-orders will arrive alongside a third trailer. The last major in-game footage appeared in May 2025, and anticipation for another official look has continued to grow. A new trailer could reveal more about gameplay, the world, the main characters, vehicles, missions, and the overall tone of the game.

Still, a third trailer is not guaranteed. Rockstar’s marketing history shows that the studio does not always release new footage exactly when pre-orders begin. For GTA 5, the second trailer arrived more than a week after pre-orders opened. For Red Dead Redemption 2, a third trailer appeared about a month before players were able to reserve the game.

Because of that unpredictable marketing style, investors appear to be focusing more on pricing than on whether a trailer drops on the same day. Jefferies remains optimistic that the start of GTA 6 pre-orders could trigger another rise in Take-Two’s stock price. The firm pointed to Red Dead Redemption 2 as an example, noting that its pre-order launch was followed by a sharp increase in investor confidence.

With GTA 6 expected to be one of the biggest entertainment launches of all time, every detail matters. The price of the standard edition, the value of special editions, the timing of trailer 3, and Rockstar’s online strategy could all shape both fan reaction and Take-Two’s market performance.

For now, all eyes are on June 25. That date may finally answer one of the biggest questions surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6: how much will players need to pay to enter Rockstar’s next massive open-world experience?
