Taiwan Unveils $800M Guarantee Fund to Fuel U.S. Investment

Taiwan Launches US$800 Million Guarantee Plan to Support Business Investment in the United States

Taiwan is moving to strengthen its companies’ global expansion plans with a new US$800 million financing guarantee program aimed at supporting investment in the United States.

The initiative, backed by Taiwan’s National Development Fund, is designed to make it easier for local businesses to secure the funding they need for overseas projects. By providing financial guarantees, the program will help reduce lending risks for banks while lowering barriers for companies seeking capital to expand operations in the US market.

According to the National Development Council, the mechanism is part of a broader effort to encourage Taiwanese firms to grow internationally, diversify their investment strategies, and build a stronger presence in key global markets. The United States remains one of the most important destinations for technology, manufacturing, and strategic industry investment, making the program especially significant for companies looking to scale beyond Taiwan.

The guarantee plan is expected to support businesses that may face challenges when applying for loans for overseas investment. With the National Development Fund sharing part of the financing risk, banks may be more willing to provide credit, giving companies greater flexibility to pursue new facilities, partnerships, supply chain expansion, and other US-based projects.

This move also reflects Taiwan’s continued focus on strengthening economic ties with the United States. As global supply chains continue to shift and companies look for more resilient international operations, financial support of this scale could play an important role in helping Taiwanese enterprises compete abroad.

The US$800 million commitment highlights Taiwan’s intention to support local companies not only at home, but also as they enter and expand in one of the world’s largest and most competitive markets.
