Taiwan and the United Kingdom are taking a meaningful step toward closer collaboration in the global space sector, with a new agreement that could help strengthen space supply chains and accelerate joint innovation.
At the 2026 Space-Comm Expo in the UK, Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and the Taiwan Space Industry Development Association signed a memorandum of understanding with ADS Group, the UK’s aerospace industry association. The agreement signals a shared commitment to deepen cooperation between Taiwanese and British space industry players, creating a more connected pipeline for technology development, manufacturing capabilities, and cross-border partnerships.
This memorandum builds on momentum from the Taiwan-UK Space Industry Roundtable Forum held in September 2025, where stakeholders from both sides explored ways to work more closely across the space economy. With the MoU now in place, that dialogue is moving into a more concrete phase—one focused on collaboration that can translate into real industrial outcomes.
For Taiwan, this kind of partnership highlights its growing role in advanced technology and high-precision manufacturing—areas that are increasingly essential for modern space missions. For the UK, expanding ties with Taiwan supports broader ambitions to reinforce its aerospace and space ecosystem by connecting with capable partners and proven supply networks.
While specific project details were not disclosed in the announcement, the timing and setting of the signing underscore a clear message: Taiwan and the UK are positioning themselves to work more strategically in space, from industry matchmaking to strengthening supply chain resilience and supporting future growth across the sector.
