Starlink Mini Drops to Its Lowest Price Ever at $149
SpaceX has reduced the price of the Starlink Mini dish to a new all-time low, making portable satellite internet more affordable than ever. The compact Starlink Mini kit is now available for $149, a major drop from its original launch price of $599 in June 2024.
The lower price makes the Starlink Mini a much more attractive option for travelers, RV owners, remote workers, campers, and anyone who needs internet access in places where traditional broadband or mobile coverage can be unreliable.
While the hardware price has changed, Starlink’s monthly Roam plans remain the same. The entry-level Roam plan still starts at $55 per month and includes 100 GB of satellite internet data. Users who want to take advantage of the Starlink Mini’s portability will still need an active service plan to connect.
The latest discount brings the Starlink Mini down from its previous $199 price to $149. SpaceX is also offering a 12-month installment option with zero APR financing, bringing the monthly hardware payment to about $12.41. That gives customers another way to get the portable satellite dish without paying the full price upfront.
The Starlink Mini has seen a dramatic price shift since its debut. When it launched in mid-2024, it cost $599, which was even higher than the Standard Kit at the time. Later that year, SpaceX offered a temporary discount that brought the Mini down to $449. By early 2025, the price had moved closer to $499, followed by several more cuts over the following months.
In late 2025, the Starlink Mini dropped to $229 for customers in the United States. Then, in early 2026, it fell again to $199. SpaceX also experimented with rental-style offers and promotional deals for some residential subscribers, including options where customers could receive a Mini without paying for the hardware upfront. However, in those cases, users did not own the dish and were required to return it if they canceled their service.
Later, SpaceX allowed customers to keep the Starlink Mini for $199 as long as they activated at least one month of basic service. During the summer, the company introduced a $16-per-month installment plan over 12 months, making the total hardware cost $192. At the time, that was the lowest official purchase price available.
Now, with the Starlink Mini available for $149 to own, SpaceX has undercut every previous deal and promotion. For anyone who has been waiting for a more affordable way to buy a portable Starlink dish, this is currently the best price offered so far.
The price cut may be part of a broader push to attract more satellite internet subscribers, especially users who need portable connectivity rather than a fixed home internet setup. It may also suggest SpaceX is preparing for a newer version of the hardware, with reports pointing to a possible battery-powered Starlink Mini 2 in the future.
Even with the lower dish price, buyers should keep in mind that service costs are separate. A compatible Starlink Roam plan is still required, and there is also a $20 shipping fee unless the kit is picked up from a retailer.
At $149, the Starlink Mini is now positioned as one of the most appealing portable satellite internet options for people who need reliable connectivity on the road, at campsites, in rural areas, or during travel. The lower upfront cost could make it much easier for more users to try Starlink’s satellite internet service without committing to the higher hardware prices seen in previous years.
