Sony has pulled the wraps off the Xperia 10 VII, a sleek mid-range phone that blends classic Xperia touches with modern upgrades. Available in charcoal black, turquoise, and white, it pairs a compact 6.1-inch form factor with premium durability and long-term software support, making it an appealing option for everyday users and mobile creators alike.
The 6.1-inch OLED display runs at a smooth 120 Hz with a 1,080 x 2,340 resolution in a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and it’s protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The dust- and water-resistant build keeps it sturdy on the go, while front-firing stereo speakers deliver audio directly toward you.
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 teams with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, plus a microSD slot supporting up to an additional 2 TB—perfect for those who shoot a lot of photos and videos. The phone launches with Android 15 and is backed by four years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates, extending its lifespan well beyond most mid-range rivals. A 5,000 mAh battery promises up to two days of use on a single charge, according to the company.
Photography remains a highlight. A dedicated hardware shutter button on the frame lets you launch the camera fast and capture bursts at up to 30 fps. On the back, a 50 MP 1/1.56-inch main sensor with a 24 mm f/1.9 lens is paired with a 13 MP 1/3-inch ultra-wide at 16 mm f/2.4. Up front, an 8 MP 1/4-inch selfie camera with a 26 mm f/2.0 lens handles portraits and video calls. Hybrid optical and electronic image stabilization helps keep photos and videos steady, especially in low light. The camera software adds AI-powered auto exposure and color looks, while the Magic Editor and Video Creator apps streamline edits and social-ready exports. Google’s Gemini AI features are also integrated for smarter assistance across the phone.
Audio gets special attention, too. You can listen through the front-facing stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.4 wireless headphones, or the classic 3.5 mm headphone jack. Compressed music is enhanced with DSEE Extreme AI upscaling, and 360 Reality Audio with 360 Upmix can turn standard stereo tracks into more immersive soundscapes.
The Xperia 10 VII measures 153 x 72 x 8.3 mm and weighs 168 g, striking a comfortable balance between pocketability and screen real estate. Pricing is set at £399 / €449 (around $525). Pre-orders open on September 12, with availability in select regions beginning in late September 2025. A U.S. release has not been confirmed.
For buyers seeking a compact Android phone with a premium OLED display, long battery life, robust update policy, and creator-friendly camera tools, the Xperia 10 VII lands squarely in the sweet spot of the mid-range market.
