Sonos Ace Ultra over-ear headphones arrive with Wi-Fi streaming, improved audio, and a lower launch price
Sonos has introduced the Ace Ultra, a new pair of premium over-ear headphones designed for listeners who want flexible connectivity, richer sound, and modern smart audio features. The latest model builds on the original Sonos Ace with upgraded drivers, expanded wireless options, and support for high-quality listening both at home and on the go.
One of the standout features of the Sonos Ace Ultra is Wi-Fi audio streaming, which is aimed at delivering a more stable and higher-quality listening experience when used at home. For users who prefer traditional connections, the headphones also include a 3.5 mm headphone jack, making them compatible with wired audio sources.
Bluetooth 6.0 is also included, giving the Ace Ultra broad compatibility with phones, tablets, laptops, and other devices. Codec support includes SBC, AAC, and Qualcomm aptX, allowing users to enjoy reliable wireless playback across different platforms.
Sonos says the Ace Ultra uses redesigned dynamic 40-millimeter drivers, which are intended to provide improved sound quality compared with the previous model. The headphones also support lossless audio and 3D audio, making them a strong option for users who enjoy immersive music, movies, and spatial listening experiences.
For sound customization, Sonos has added an advanced 8-band equalizer. This gives listeners more control over bass, mids, and treble, allowing them to fine-tune the audio profile to match their personal preferences or the type of content they are playing.
The headphones also include practical everyday features such as wear detection, which can automatically respond when the headphones are taken off or put back on. A multifunction button is built in for controlling music playback and adjusting volume without needing to reach for a connected device.
The Sonos Ace Ultra is now available for pre-order at $449 through the official Sonos online store. Shipping is expected to begin on September 29. Color options include white, blue, beige, and black.
Interestingly, the Sonos Ace Ultra launches at a lower price than the original Sonos Ace did at release. The new model is priced $50 below the older model’s launch price, while the previous Sonos Ace is currently available for $399. This positions the Ace Ultra as a more feature-rich upgrade while keeping it competitive in the premium wireless headphone market.
