Honor is reportedly gearing up to challenge the market with its new compact tablet, designed to compete with offerings from Lenovo, Redmi, and RedMagic. This upcoming device stands out not just due to its smaller size but also because it might be the only one among its competitors to support 5G connectivity.
According to recent leaks, Honor’s new tablet is set to feature a 7.9-inch display, making it the smallest in comparison to its rivals like the Lenovo Legion Y700 (4th Gen) and Xiaomi’s Redmi K Pad. While the specific type of display is still under wraps, speculation suggests it might continue with an LCD, similar to the Honor Magic Pad3.
One of the most intriguing aspects of this compact tablet is the inclusion of 5G support, a feature absent in similar offerings from Lenovo, Xiaomi, and RedMagic. This could potentially make Honor’s device a standout choice for users seeking cellular connectivity in this segment, aside from Apple’s iPad Mini.
Powering this compact device is rumored to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. However, there’s a catch; this tablet might not hit the shelves until next year, by which time the Snapdragon 8 Elite would be considered last-generation. Nonetheless, Honor’s entry into the compact, high-end tablet market is generating buzz, especially with its promise of integrating 5G capabilities.
