Recent reports highlight impressive preliminary results from the AnTuTu benchmark, revealing a substantial performance leap.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 allegedly achieved a staggering score of 3.8 million on AnTuTu. This score represents a remarkable 40.7 percent improvement over the current top-performing Android smartphone, the iQOO 13, which scores just shy of 2.7 million. These results place the upcoming Snapdragon chipset well ahead of the current contenders.
AnTuTu combines tests that focus on both CPU and GPU performance, suggesting that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2’s CPU cluster and the Adreno 840 GPU offer distinct enhancements. The chip’s advancement is underscored by its production on TSMC’s cutting-edge third-generation 3nm ‘N3P’ process, which ensures a performance boost without increasing power consumption.
Previous insights hinted at Qualcomm integrating its updated ‘Pegasus’ cores in this new chipset, with some reports indicating these cores have been tested at a robust 5.00GHz. This frequency increase, alongside support for ARM’s Scalable Matrix Extension (SME), may well explain the impressive AnTuTu scores.
