SmallRig Launches S70 Wireless Mic With 9 EQ Presets, Pro Noise Cancellation, and Up to 40 Hours of Battery Life

SmallRig is growing its lineup of compact audio gear with the new S70 wireless microphone, a tiny, creator-focused option built to go head-to-head with popular mini wireless mics from DJI and Insta360. With its metallic-finish body and ultra-lightweight build, the S70 tips the scales at just 8.7 grams, making it even lighter than the DJI Mic Mini by about 2 grams. That combination of pocketable size and premium design is clearly aimed at vloggers, mobile filmmakers, livestreamers, and anyone who wants better sound without bulky equipment.

SmallRig says the S70’s sound signature was tuned by Grammy Award-winning engineer Luca Bignardi to deliver professional audio with “360° clarity.” Under the hood, it’s built around specs that matter for clean, detailed voice capture: 48 kHz sampling, 24-bit depth, a 70 dB signal-to-noise ratio, and a max SPL of 120 dB for handling louder moments without falling apart.

To help creators record confidently in different environments, the S70 includes automatic limiting, anti-distortion support, and three levels of noise cancellation. You can adjust the noise reduction depending on whether you’re filming indoors, out on a busy street, or dealing with wind and crowd noise. There are also physical buttons for quick control, including toggling noise cancellation and starting video recording, which is useful when you’re shooting on the move and don’t want to dig through menus.

Recording flexibility is another highlight. The S70 offers mono, stereo, and a safety track mode. Safety track records a second backup track at -6 dB, giving you a built-in safeguard against audio clipping if someone suddenly laughs, shouts, or the environment spikes in volume. For creators who don’t want to reshoot, that one feature can be a lifesaver.

Battery life is positioned as a major selling point too. SmallRig claims up to 40 hours of total battery life, making the S70 a strong choice for travel days, long interview sessions, event coverage, and extended livestream setups. Like competing wireless mic systems, it also supports app-based control through a companion app so you can tweak settings more conveniently.

For range, the receiver is rated for up to 984 feet in open space with minimal obstruction and interference, which is designed to support wider shots, walk-and-talk filming, and more flexible camera placement. Additional tools include nine built-in EQ presets with one-tap switching, automatic clipping protection, and a gain preset designed to work smoothly with a wide variety of devices.

Pricing is another reason the SmallRig S70 may attract attention in the crowded wireless microphone market. It launches at $89.99 and is available now through SmallRig’s official store and major camera retailers.
