Slash Titan-Sized Foes in a Braveheart Writer’s Diablo-Style ARPG—Now at a Huge Steam Discount

Titan Quest has come a long way since its original 2006 release, back when PC games were still commonly purchased on CDs. Developed by Iron Lore and published by THQ Nordic, the mythical action RPG quickly stood out for its distinctive take on character building, fast-paced combat, and globe-spanning legends pulled from ancient cultures.

At the heart of the original game is a flexible progression system that still feels refreshingly modern. Players create a custom hero and choose from nine different Masteries, unlocking the first at level 2 and the second at level 8. That two-tier setup opens the door to more than 36 possible class combinations, each with its own skill trees packed with active abilities and passive boosts. It’s a big reason the game maintained a loyal fanbase for years: builds feel personal, experimentation is rewarded, and replay value stays high.

Support for Titan Quest didn’t end with the base game. The first major expansion, Titan Quest: Immortal Throne, arrived just a year later, expanding the adventure and reinforcing the game’s long-term appeal. In 2016, the franchise celebrated its 10-year milestone with Titan Quest Anniversary Edition, a refreshed package combining the original game with Immortal Throne. That anniversary release effectively introduced Titan Quest to a new generation, while giving veterans a polished reason to return.

More expansions followed as the years went on. Titan Quest: Ragnarök launched in 2017, then Titan Quest: Atlantis in 2019, and Titan Quest: Eternal Embers in 2021. Along the way, the game also received general updates aimed at improving graphics, gameplay, mechanics, and overall features, helping it feel closer to modern ARPG standards while preserving what made it special in the first place.

All of that momentum set the stage for the next chapter. In 2025, Titan Quest 2 entered early access, developed by Grimlore Games. The new entry returns players to the Greek world of antiquity, where they face the forces of Nemesis, the Goddess of Retribution, and push back against her escalating threat. It’s a familiar foundation for longtime fans, but positioned to evolve with new systems, content drops, and ongoing updates.

The numbers show that interest in the series is still strong. Titan Quest Anniversary Edition continues to be praised for its setting and the dual mastery build variety, holding a Very Positive rating with more than 33,000 positive reviews on Steam. Titan Quest 2 is also earning encouraging early feedback, currently sitting at Mostly Positive with over 12,000 positive reviews despite still being in early access.

For players considering jumping in, Titan Quest 2’s early access period is meant to be an active development phase. The developers have shared a roadmap toward full release, promising additional narrative chapters, new quests, more characters, fresh items, and ongoing improvements designed to refine the overall experience over time.

The publisher has also run Steam discounts across its catalog, which can make it an especially good moment for ARPG fans to explore the series. Recent pricing has included Titan Quest Anniversary Edition marked down to $4.99, the Titan Quest Bundle (Anniversary Edition plus three expansions) priced at $19.54, and Titan Quest 2 discounted to $27.99.
