SK Hynix Drops LG eSSD Pursuit as ASICLAND Partnership Gains Momentum

SK Hynix has reportedly stepped back from discussions with LG Electronics over outsourcing part of the backend design work for a next-generation enterprise SSD controller, a move that has drawn attention across the semiconductor and storage industries.

The project in question centers on an eSSD controller, a critical component used in enterprise solid-state drives for servers, data centers, and AI infrastructure.
