Seiko is tapping into skate and street culture with a fresh limited-edition release: the Seiko SRPM09, created in collaboration with streetwear label HUF. Built on the Seiko 5 Sports “Field” platform, this model brings back an eye-catching slice of 1970s watch history by drawing inspiration from Seiko’s vintage “Time Sonar” designs—then updates it with a modern streetwear edge. The watch is set to launch in March 2026, and it’s capped at 7,000 units worldwide, making it one of those releases that collectors and Seiko fans will want to move quickly on. In Japan, it will be offered as the SBSA323, with 1,000 pieces reserved for the domestic market.
HUF’s involvement isn’t just a logo-on-the-dial situation. The brand—founded in 2002 by skateboarder Keith Hufnagel—has long been influential in skateboarding and streetwear, first as a curated retail shop and later as a globally recognized label known for quality and collaborations. That heritage shows up in the color choices, graphics, and packaging details that give this SRPM09 a distinct identity.
At the center of the design is a semi-transparent green dial in what’s described as “HUF Green.” It offers a peek at the day and date wheels underneath, a playful nod to the retro “Time Sonar” concept while still feeling modern and wearable. Subtle branding appears with the “huf” logo placed at 6 o’clock, and there’s added contrast from an orange-tipped seconds hand that pops against the green tones.
The case is stainless steel and sized for everyday comfort at 39.4 mm, with an 11.6 mm thickness and a 48.1 mm lug-to-lug distance. Seiko protects the dial with its Hardlex crystal, and the watch is rated to 10 bar (100 meters) of water resistance—practical for daily use and more than enough for a typical field-style sports watch. It’s finished with a stainless steel bracelet, using a 20 mm lug width for a balanced, sporty fit.
Inside, Seiko uses the well-known automatic Caliber 4R36. It delivers roughly 41 hours of power reserve and includes both manual winding and hacking, features many enthusiasts look for when setting and wearing an automatic watch. Around back, the collaboration leans further into HUF’s roots: the exhibition case back is tinted green to match the dial and includes a San Francisco-inspired graphic, referencing the city where the brand was founded.
Adding to the collector appeal, Seiko packages the SRPM09 in a special HUF-branded presentation tin and includes a cleaning cloth. With a reported price of $450, the SRPM09 aims to sit at that sweet spot where Seiko’s reliability, a limited run, and a bold collaboration design come together—offering something that feels both wearable and genuinely different from the usual releases.
