CableTime ScreenDock brings an 8-in-1 USB-C dock with a built-in 5.5-inch display
CableTime is preparing to launch the ScreenDock, a compact 8-in-1 docking station designed for users who want more ports and a small secondary screen in one affordable desktop accessory. The device is heading to Kickstarter, where early supporters will be able to reserve it at a lower introductory price.
The biggest highlight of the CableTime ScreenDock is its built-in 5.5-inch display. The screen has a 1280 x 720 resolution, which may not compete with a full-size monitor, but it is more than enough for quick-glance information. Instead of taking up space on your main display, the ScreenDock can show useful tools such as CPU and GPU usage, system stats, dashboards, progress bars, guides, chat windows, and even in-game maps.
For gamers, streamers, creators, and multitaskers, this kind of small secondary screen could be especially practical. It gives users a dedicated area for monitoring key information without constantly switching windows or cluttering the main workspace.
CableTime says the ScreenDock is easy to use, allowing windows from the main monitor to be moved over to the built-in display. The company also plans to offer first-party widgets that users can customize based on their workflow, style, and preferences. Physical buttons are included for quick brightness adjustments, making the screen easier to control without diving into software menus.
Beyond the display, the ScreenDock works as a full desktop hub. Its 8-in-1 expansion setup includes USB-C 3.0, USB-A 3.0, USB-A 2.0, SD and TF card readers with speeds up to 104 MB/s, 100 W USB-C Power Delivery, Gigabit Ethernet, and HDMI output with support for up to 4K at 60 Hz.
This makes it a useful option for laptops with limited ports, especially ultrabooks and compact work machines. With one device, users can connect external storage, memory cards, wired internet, a 4K monitor, and power delivery while also gaining a small information display.
The CableTime ScreenDock supports macOS 10.12 and newer, Windows 10 and newer, and Linux, giving it broad compatibility across common desktop and laptop setups.
Early bird pricing for the ScreenDock is listed at $119 on Kickstarter, with an estimated delivery window of October 2026. As with any crowdfunding product, buyers should keep in mind that timelines, specifications, and availability can change before final production.
Overall, the CableTime ScreenDock looks like an interesting choice for anyone who wants a budget-friendly USB-C docking station with a practical built-in display. It combines everyday connectivity with a small productivity screen, making it a smart desk upgrade for remote workers, gamers, content creators, and multitaskers looking to get more from their setup.
