Following the 970 EVO Plus SSD, the 990 EVO SSD is not an upgrade over its 980 PRO SSD but serves as its successor. Samsung is backing the 990 EVO SSD with a five-year limited warranty, guaranteeing 600TB of total write capacity for the 1TB model and 1,200TB for the 2TB variant.

The 990 EVO SSD boasts compatibility with both PCIe 4.0 x4 and the latest PCIe 5.0 x2 interfaces, targeting everyday use scenarios such as gaming, multimedia editing, and general work tasks.
