Samsung has unveiled its flagship 115-inch TV featuring groundbreaking Micro RGB technology. This innovation promises to redefine display quality with its sub-100 micrometer RGB LEDs, offering unparalleled contrast and color reproduction.
This state-of-the-art TV employs Samsung’s proprietary Micro RGB technology, which arranges tiny red, green, and blue LEDs in a dense grid behind the LCD panel. Such precision allows for exceptional color accuracy and contrast, setting a new standard in the ultra-premium TV market.
In comparison to traditional mini LEDs, which are generally larger and controlled in groups, Micro RGB LEDs allow for individual control. This means more precise local dimming and improved HDR performance. Though not quite at the level of OLED’s per-pixel control, Micro RGB brings a new level of light precision to LCDs.
According to Samsung, these displays deliver a nearly 100% BT.2020 color gamut, deeper blacks, and up to 20% better energy efficiency than current Mini-LED technologies. They’ve also received the prestigious Micro RGB Precision Color certification from Germany’s VDE institute.
The TV comes equipped with a dedicated Micro RGB AI Engine, which optimizes color and sound on-the-fly. The Micro RGB Color Booster Pro further enhances color vibrancy, while Samsung Knox provides advanced security features. Additionally, a 7-year Tizen OS Upgrade program promises extended software support.
Initially launched in South Korea, the Samsung Micro RGB TV will soon make its way to the US, with plans for global availability in the ultra-premium segment.
