Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7: A Step Ahead in Foldable Battery Technology

In recent tests, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 surprised many by outperforming its competitors, the Magic V3 and X Fold3, even with a smaller battery. However, the Oppo Find N5 still pulled ahead, delivering 30% longer runtimes in Wi-Fi battery tests compared to the Galaxy Z Fold6.

Looking ahead, the Galaxy Z Fold7 could face stiff competition from the Magic V5 and X Fold5. Despite this, Samsung’s latest foldable might offer a significant advantage in battery lifespan. According to Ice Universe, EU certifications indicate that the Galaxy Z Fold7 will maintain at least 80% of its peak battery capacity after an impressive 2,000 charging cycles.

For comparison, Google’s Pixel 9a will limit battery voltage after just 200 cycles, while Apple’s iPhone 16 series and Motorola’s Razr 60 series are rated for 1,000 cycles before dropping to 80% battery health. This means the Galaxy Z Fold7 could remain robust even after many might consider upgrading to newer models.
