Samsung has started rolling out the February 2024 security patch for its foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4, in the United States. February 2024 Security Patch Released for Both Carrier-Locked and Unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Fold 4 Variants in the US
The carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in the US is receiving an update with firmware version F721USQS4EXAD. Similarly, the factory-unlocked model is being updated with firmware version F721U1UES4EXAD. Galaxy Z Fold 4 users with a carrier-locked device will see a new firmware version F936USQS4EXAD, while the factory-unlocked version is receiving the version F936U1UES4EXAD. This update addresses 72 security vulnerabilities that were present in the previous iteration of the firmware.
Owners of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 or Galaxy Z Fold 4 in both carrier-locked and factory-unlocked forms should check for this software update. This can be done by navigating to the ‘Settings’ app, going to ‘Software update’, and selecting ‘Download and install’. For those adept with manual installation, it’s possible to download the firmware from a credible firmware database and flash it to their device.
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 were initially launched in the latter half of 2022 with Android 12. They were updated to Android 13 at the end of 2022 and later to Android 14 towards the end of 2023.
