In a continuous effort to enhance security and user experience, Samsung has further expanded the rollout of its February 2024 security update for the Galaxy S22 series. This update has now reached users across various regions, including Asian countries, Australia, and parts of Latin America.
February 2024 Security Patch Targets Galaxy S22 Models Globally
Owners of the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra are being treated to increased security as Samsung releases firmware updates specific to different regions. The latest security patch addresses 72 vulnerabilities and can be identified by looking at the firmware versions:
– In India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, the update carries firmware version S90xEXXS7DXB5.
– Latin American users will find their devices updating to firmware version S90xEXXS7DXB7.
– Meanwhile, in Australia, the firmware version for the update is S90xEXXS7DXB8.
Galaxy S22 users in these regions are encouraged to install the update promptly to ensure their device’s security is up to date.
To apply the update, navigate to the Settings app, select Software update, and tap Download and install. Users who prefer a manual approach can obtain the necessary firmware files through various online repositories and flash them to their phones.
This latest security update could be one of the final ones before the Galaxy S22 lineup receives the anticipated One UI 6.1 update. Samsung introduced the Galaxy S22 series in 2022, initially running on Android 12. The smartphones went on to receive an update to Android 13 later in that year, followed by Android 14 in late 2023, consistently keeping up with the latest Android versions and features.
