Nubia is gearing up to launch new flagships powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and the Z80 Ultra is front and center. After teasing the phone’s imaging prowess, the brand has revealed a dedicated Photography Kit that transforms the device into a retro-style camera complete with swappable lenses and physical controls.
If the concept feels familiar, it’s because Nubia offered a similar attachment for the Z70S Ultra. The new version appears to follow the same core design, but it doubles down on tactile shooting with a top-plate shutter button, additional physical buttons and knobs, and a quick-release handle for fast assembly and removal.
The standout feature is the modular lens system. According to the promo materials, the kit includes two lenses that mount over the Z80 Ultra’s primary camera. Nubia suggests these add-ons can extend the equivalent focal length for flattering portraits, enhance macro and telephoto performance, and even convert the main sensor into an ultrawide shooter. There’s also a filter that attaches to the same mount, with hints that more filters could arrive later to further elevate mobile photography.
