At Xiaomi’s latest event, while the spotlight shone on the launch of the fresh Redmi K80 series, the company also rolled out a collection of intriguing accessories. Stealing some limelight were the Redmi Buds 6 Pro, wireless earbuds engineered for an enhanced audio experience.
Building on the success of previous models, the Buds 6 Pro boast a refined dual-driver setup. This design revamp aims to elevate the listening experience with crystal-clear treble, richly detailed mid-tones, and robust bass. According to Xiaomi, these earbuds can reach sound levels that are 10% louder than those of their predecessors, promising an immersive auditory delight.
Moreover, the Buds 6 Pro are equipped to handle multiple HiFi codecs, specifically LC3 and LHDC 5.0. The latter enables a dynamic bit rate, which can climb as high as 1,000 Kbps, making these earbuds a dream for audiophiles and gamers alike. Speaking of gaming, there’s a special edition fitted with a USB-C dongle, featuring LDHC Lossless support and a remarkably low 20 ms latency for smooth, real-time audio catering to gamers.
In terms of noise cancellation, the Buds 6 Pro offer significant upgrades. They feature an improved active noise cancellation (ANC) system, which Xiaomi claims delivers 40% greater noise reduction capability, suppressing noise levels by up to 55 dB, outperforming the older models rated to reduce noise by up to 52 dB.
While there’s a minor downturn in battery performance, the trade-off may well be worth it for the advanced features on offer. The Buds 6 Pro can run up to 36 hours with the charging case — slightly less than the 38 hours available from its predecessor — and provide around 9.5 hours of playtime on a single charge.
The Redmi Buds 6 Pro are rounded out with additional modern features, including an AI-driven triple-microphone system that ensures crystal-clear call quality, spatial audio capabilities with dynamic head tracking, and intuitive touch controls. The standard model is available in China at a price of around $55 (CNY 399), while the gaming version is priced at roughly $68 (CNY 499). Xiaomi is yet to announce plans for a global rollout or international pricing details.
These earbuds represent a sophisticated, budget-friendly option for audio enthusiasts and gamers seeking top-notch performance.
