To make the posting experience more intuitive, Reddit is launching “Community Suggestions.” This feature is particularly helpful for users who are uncertain about where to share their posts. When a user drafts a post but is unsure of its destination, a “Pick a Community” dropdown will offer recommended subreddits based on the content of the post. Reddit anticipates that this will facilitate better connections between users and the appropriate audience.
In an effort to minimize accidental rule-breaking, Reddit is introducing a “Post Check” feature. Before a post goes live, users can access this tool via a wand icon in the post composer. It will highlight parts of the post that might violate subreddit rules, giving users the chance to make necessary adjustments before publishing.
Reddit is also addressing the issue of removed posts with a tool that allows users to repost content that violates one community’s rules to another, more fitting subreddit. If a post gets removed, users will receive guidance on where they might successfully repost it.
Further enhancing user interaction, Reddit will provide suggestions for those unable to contribute to a community due to unmet criteria, such as insufficient karma. Notifications will offer guidance on how to earn more karma and engage constructively across the site.
Additionally, Reddit has enhanced its “Post Insights” feature. This updated tool provides users with detailed metrics on their posts, showing data on views, upvotes, and shares. This insight will enable users to refine their content strategies by understanding what resonates well within the community.
All these features are now available to Reddit users worldwide on both mobile and desktop platforms, aiming to create a more seamless and informed posting experience for everyone on the platform.
