Realme’s Next Budget Phone Arrives Next Week With a Massive 7,000mAh Battery

Realme 16x 5G India Launch Confirmed for August 12 With 7,000mAh Battery and 144Hz Display

Realme is preparing to expand its affordable 5G smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Realme 16x. The company has officially confirmed that the new budget-focused 5G phone will arrive in the Indian market on August 12, and several key specifications have already been revealed ahead of the launch.

The Realme 16x is expected to appeal to users looking for a powerful everyday smartphone with long battery life, smooth performance, and a high-refresh-rate display without spending too much. According to the official details shared so far, the handset will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, a mid-range 5G processor designed to handle daily tasks, streaming, gaming, and multitasking efficiently.

The phone will come with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Realme has not yet confirmed whether the device will support expandable storage, but the available storage option should be enough for most users who need space for apps, photos, videos, and games.

One of the major highlights of the Realme 16x is its cooling system. The smartphone will feature a 5,300mm² vapor chamber, which Realme claims is among the largest in its segment. This cooling setup should help the device maintain stable performance during extended gaming sessions, video recording, or heavy app usage.

Realme has not disclosed the exact display size yet, but the company has confirmed that the Realme 16x will feature a display with a 144Hz refresh rate. This should make scrolling, animations, and gaming feel noticeably smoother compared to standard 60Hz or 90Hz screens. The panel will also support up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness, which should improve outdoor visibility and make the viewing experience better under bright sunlight.

For photography, the Realme 16x will come with a dual rear camera setup. The main camera will use a 50MP sensor, while details about the second sensor are still unknown. The rear camera module will also include an LED flash and an RGB light ring, giving the phone a more stylish and distinctive look.

Battery life is another key selling point of the upcoming Realme 16x. The device will pack a massive 7,000mAh battery, making it suitable for users who want a phone that can last through long hours of usage. Whether for social media, video streaming, calling, gaming, or travel, the large battery should help reduce the need for frequent charging. The phone will also support 45W wired fast charging.

On the software side, the Realme 16x will run Android 16 out of the box. Realme is also expected to offer two major Android OS updates and three years of security updates for the device, which is a welcome addition for buyers looking for better long-term software support in the budget 5G smartphone category.

The Realme 16x will be available in two color options: Endurance Brown and Glory White. Both finishes appear to be aimed at users who prefer a clean and premium-looking design in an affordable phone.

Realme has not yet announced the official price of the Realme 16x in India. However, given its positioning as a budget 5G smartphone, it is expected to be priced competitively. More details, including the full specification sheet, sale date, and official pricing, will be revealed during the launch event on August 12.

With a 144Hz display, MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, 50MP camera, 7,000mAh battery, and Android 16 software, the Realme 16x could become one of the more interesting affordable 5G smartphones launching in India this month.
