Rabbit Collaborates with ElevenLabs for Enhanced Voice Command Capabilities

Innovative hardware manufacturer Rabbit is set to enhance the user experience on its upcoming devices by integrating technology from ElevenLabs to power intuitive voice commands. The collaboration signals a forward leap in Rabbit’s strategy to provide advanced, voice-activated interactions for its consumers.

The buzz surrounding Rabbit’s latest r1 device, notably featured at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), continues to build as the company prepares for the shipment of its first batch of devices. The Rabbit r1, equipped with ElevenLabs’ technology, promises to offer users a more natural and responsive form of communication with their AI-driven pocket devices. While initially supporting English with a single voice option, the technology aims to mimic human-like interactions with low latency models.

ElevenLabs’ CEO, Mati Staniszewski, emphasizes the shared vision of Rabbit and ElevenLabs: to deliver a seamless human-device interface that positions the r1 as an indispensable daily companion. This aspiration for a dynamic co-pilot encapsulates the excitement surrounding the launch.

Aside from voice commands, Rabbit recently announced a partnership with Perplexity AI to incorporate solutions for timely and precise answers to user queries. The impressive capabilities of the Rabbit r1 extend to interacting with chatbots, bi-directional translation, ordering services, and media playback at the touch of a button—or rather, the sound of a voice.

Looking ahead, Rabbit anticipates an impressive order volume nearing 100,000 units, signifying high market demand. As the devices, priced at $199, begin rolling out by the end of March, customers can anticipate a fresh and engaging way to navigate everyday tasks.

Meanwhile, ElevenLabs, having secured a sizeable $80 million in Series B funding and achieving unicorn status, has its sights set on revolutionizing voice cloning across diverse mediums, including audiobooks, entertainment dubbing, advertising, and gaming. With their services now employed by India’s PocketFM, which itself raised a substantial investment for platform expansion, ElevenLabs is at the forefront of audio innovation.

Despite its success, ElevenLabs has encountered hurdles with its technology being misused for unauthorized impersonations and attempts to deceive security systems. To address these challenges head-on, the company is proactively developing tools to identify and regulate synthesized speech, showcasing its commitment to ethical and responsible use of AI-driven audio technologies.

With Rabbit and ElevenLabs joining forces, the potential for next-generation device interaction looms large on the horizon, promising a future where voice communication with technology is as fluent and natural as a conversation between friends.
