Qualcomm has revealed an exciting development for gaming enthusiasts using Snapdragon X Elite. While this chip was initially said to handle the newest AAA games, realistic expectations were necessary due to its integrated graphics processor. However, the introduction of the Adreno Control Panel now offers users a chance to maximize performance.
This control panel, now in beta, brings features similar to those found in NVIDIA’s Control Panel and AMD’s Adrenalin. Users can tweak video settings like texture and anisotropic filtering, and even set up custom profiles for different games. One standout feature is Video Super Resolution, akin to NVIDIA’s DLSS or AMD’s FSR, which enhances framerate.
Currently, the Snapdragon X Elite’s Adreno GPU handles games like Baldur’s Gate 3 at 30 FPS and Control at 40 FPS, though these require reduced in-game settings. While not groundbreaking, these tools indicate Qualcomm’s commitment to expanding gaming capabilities on its platform.
The addition of the Adreno Control Panel signifies a push towards broader gaming adoption on Snapdragon X Elite, with popular titles like Fortnite expected to arrive soon. Still, to compete on par with NVIDIA and AMD, further advancements are anticipated.
