Popular Power Bank Pulled From Shelves After Fires Cause Injuries and Damage

Flaunt Recalls MagSafe Battery Charger Power Banks Over Fire and Burn Risk

Flaunt has issued a recall for its MagSafe Battery Charger power banks after reports linked the device to overheating, burns, and minor property damage. The recall affects only power banks with the model number E33A, so owners are being urged to check their devices immediately.

The recalled Flaunt MagSafe Battery Charger was sold in four color options: Melon with code BL354CH, Black with code BL913CH, Lavender with code LA291CH, and White with code WH871CH. While these colors are included in the recall, the key detail to confirm is the E33A model number. Flaunt says the recall applies exclusively to units with that model number.

The safety concern involves the lithium-ion battery inside the charger. According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, the battery may overheat and ignite, creating a potential fire hazard. This can lead to serious injuries, including burns, and in extreme cases could pose a risk of death.

Several incidents have already been reported. One consumer suffered a burned hand, another reported a burn on the arm, and four additional cases involved minor property damage. These reports prompted the recall and the warning for consumers to stop using the affected power banks right away.

Anyone who owns a Flaunt MagSafe Battery Charger should inspect the product for the E33A model number. If the device is part of the recall, it should no longer be used or charged. Continuing to use a recalled lithium-ion battery product can increase the risk of overheating, fire, or injury.

Flaunt is offering affected customers two options after they complete the recall process: a full refund of $65 or an $80 store credit. Owners will need to register their recalled charger through Flaunt’s official recall process and follow the company’s instructions to receive compensation.

This recall is another reminder of the importance of monitoring battery-powered accessories, especially portable chargers and magnetic wireless power banks. If a device becomes unusually hot, swells, smells strange, leaks, smokes, or shows signs of damage, it should be placed in a safe location away from flammable materials and no longer used.

For Flaunt MagSafe Battery Charger owners, the safest step is simple: check the model number now. If it reads E33A, stop using the charger immediately and begin the recall process to claim a refund or store credit.
