Poco M8 Power launches with a huge 8,000mAh battery, 120Hz AMOLED display, and long software support
Xiaomi has expanded its Poco M8 lineup with the new Poco M8 Power, a smartphone built for users who want long battery life, a large display, and dependable everyday performance. The latest model joins the Poco M8 family as the biggest-battery option in the series, promising up to three days of use on a single charge.
The standout feature of the Poco M8 Power is its massive 8,000mAh battery. That capacity makes it one of the most endurance-focused phones in its segment, especially for people who stream videos, browse social media, play games, travel often, or simply dislike charging their phone every day. The device also supports 45W fast wired charging, while 22.5W reverse wired charging allows it to power up other compatible devices when needed. A charger is included in the box, which is a welcome addition.
On the front, the Poco M8 Power features a large 6.99-inch AMOLED display with a 2396 × 1080 resolution. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations, along with a 240Hz touch response rate for improved responsiveness during gaming and general use. Protection is handled by Gorilla Glass 7i, and the display includes a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera.
Performance comes from the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, paired with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The phone includes 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, with support for expandable storage for users who need more room for apps, photos, videos, and files.
For photography, the Poco M8 Power keeps things simple with a 50MP main rear camera. On the front, there is an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls. While the camera setup is not overly complex, the 50MP main sensor should cover everyday shooting needs such as portraits, landscapes, documents, and social media photos.
The phone runs Android 16 out of the box and is promised four major Android OS upgrades, meaning it should receive updates through Android 20. Xiaomi is also offering six years of security updates, giving the device a longer support window than many phones in its price range.
Other features include dual SIM support, Bluetooth 5.1, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. However, the phone does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack, so users will need to rely on wireless earbuds or a USB-C audio solution.
The Poco M8 Power comes in Blaze Orange, Green, and Black color options, all featuring a matte finish. It also carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, adding extra protection against everyday splashes and dust exposure.
Sales are scheduled to begin on August 7 through Flipkart. The 6GB RAM variant is priced at ₹24,999, while the 8GB RAM model costs ₹27,999.
With its 8,000mAh battery, 120Hz AMOLED display, Android 16 software, long-term update promise, and reverse charging support, the Poco M8 Power is positioned as a strong choice for buyers looking for a battery-focused 5G smartphone with modern features and extended software reliability.
