Google is at the forefront of providing feature updates to its Pixel devices, and the latest Pixel Feature Drop is testament to its commitment to its ecosystem. With the advent of the March Pixel Feature Drop, owners of devices including Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, and other Pixel devices are in for a range of new functionalities.
A standout addition is the Circle to Search feature that initially appeared on newer models and is now extended to Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro users. This feature allows users to perform quick searches using circular gestures. Furthermore, 10-bit HDR photo uploads have been optimized for social media platforms like Instagram, with no compromise on quality. This upgrade is applicable for Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, and other select Pixel devices, including the upcoming Pixel Fold.
Call Screen enhancements have been made available for Pixel 6 and newer models in the US, giving users the ability to prompt callers for more information. Additionally, users from Pixel 5a onwards can now share only a portion of their screens, improving privacy and control during screen sharing sessions.
Pixel Tablet users can experience a more streamlined transcription process, as the voice keyboard now minimizes to provide extra screen real estate when active. This makes multitasking and note-taking more seamless.
Pixel Watch wearers have not been overlooked, with the workout interface receiving a visual upgrade for better readability during exercises. Not only can users view heart rate zones to tailor their workout intensities, but the watch also sends notifications when transitioning between zones. Pace goals can be set for certain activities, and the watch informs you of any deviations from your set pace. Automatic detection of workouts based on heart rate is another smart feature, alongside directions to nearby public transit options. LTE-enabled Pixel Watch models provide the convenience of initiating trips directly from the watch.
The rollout of the March Pixel Feature Drop is paired with Google’s March 2024 Android security patch, ensuring devices stay up to date with the latest in safety and stability. The updates are available over-the-air (OTA) for an array of Pixel devices, from the Pixel 5a to the latest Pixel 8 Pro. Users also have the option to manually sideload the updates using system images available on the Google Developers’ website.
This update underlines Google’s ongoing support for its Pixel ecosystem, demonstrating a dedication to enhancing user experience across its range of devices. Whether you’re a photographer, a productivity enthusiast, a fitness aficionado, or simply someone in search of an improved device experience, the latest Pixel Feature Drop has something to offer.
