Pixel 10a Debuts With a Familiar Look, Tensor G4 Power, and Deep Early Discounts

After weeks of steady leaks, there weren’t many surprises left surrounding the Pixel 10a. Still, Google has now made it official, positioning the Pixel 10a as its newest budget-friendly Pixel phone with a big battery, a familiar (some might say dated) design, and a long list of AI-powered tools aimed at making everyday photos, searches, and assistance noticeably easier.

Google Pixel 10a design and build

The Pixel 10a arrives with a “perfectly flat” plastic back and a camera module that sits flush with the rear surface. Up front, it uses Corning Gorilla Glass 7i to protect a 6.3-inch FHD+ AMOLED “Actua” display. The screen delivers a 2,424 x 1,080 resolution and a variable refresh rate that goes up to 120Hz, which should help it feel smooth while scrolling and gaming.

Google wraps the phone in an aluminum frame and lists the dimensions as 153.9mm x 72.9mm x 9mm (6.06 x 2.87 x 0.35 inches), with a weight of about 6.52 ounces. Visually, the phone leans into thicker bezels, visible antenna lines from the sides, and a rear camera bar that houses the dual-lens setup. Google also keeps its familiar button layout with the volume rocker below the power button, and the bottom cutouts for speaker and microphone are symmetrically placed.

Durability is a highlight at this price: the Pixel 10a includes IP68 dust and water resistance.

Pixel 10a colors

Google is offering four color options:
Obsidian (dark grey), Fog (beige), Lavender (soft purple), and Berry (red).

Pixel 10a specs: processor, memory, storage

Inside, the Pixel 10a runs on Google’s Tensor G4 chip paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of base storage. It’s worth noting that the Pixel 9a also used the Tensor G4, but with a lower clock speed.

Pixel 10a cameras

For photography, the Pixel 10a includes:
A 13MP front-facing camera
A dual rear camera system with a 48MP main sensor and a 13MP ultra-wide sensor

Battery and charging

One of the biggest talking points is battery life. The Pixel 10a packs a 5,100mAh battery and supports 45W wired charging. Google claims it’s enough for around 30 hours of screen-on time, which is a strong promise for a budget smartphone.

Software and AI features

Google is leaning heavily on AI here, bundling several features designed to improve photos and simplify everyday tasks:
Camera Coach for step-by-step guidance on framing, lighting, and composition
Auto Best Take, which picks the best shot from multiple frames automatically
Gemini Live, Google’s voice assistant experience
Nano Banana, Google’s image generation AI model
Circle to Search, letting you search anything on-screen by circling, highlighting, or tapping
Seven years of OS updates
Satellite-based SOS for contacting emergency responders without cellular coverage

Pixel 10a price and release date

The Pixel 10a starts at $499 for the base model. It goes on sale starting March 05, with pre-orders available immediately.

Pixel Buds 2a new colors

Alongside the phone, Google also introduced Pixel Buds 2a in two new matching colors: Berry and Fog.

Early discount codes spotted

In an interesting twist, several Reddit users have claimed Google sent discount codes for the Pixel 10a ahead of launch, with reported amounts ranging from $50 to $150.
