The Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box 8K has recently surfaced at another retailer, following its initial sighting in July. This second-generation device, now found at Coolshop, comes with several notable enhancements compared to its predecessor. Designed to synchronize your smart lights with your TV, the new model supports an impressive 8K@60Hz or 4K@120Hz, ensuring it stays relevant for years to come.
Key upgrades include the introduction of HDMI 2.1 ports, replacing the older HDMI 2.0, along with continued support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+. Users can connect up to four HDMI devices, such as game consoles, and link up to 10 smart lights. To fully utilize its features, a Hue Bridge must be connected.
Controls for brightness, color, and lighting effects can be managed via the Philips Hue app. Additional control options are available through integrations with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home.
While the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box 8K is anticipated to launch in September, official confirmation and pricing details are still awaited. For reference, the original model is priced at $249.99/£229.99/€269.99.
