Persona 4 Revival Officially Set to Launch in February 2027

Persona 4 Revival Release Date Confirmed for PS5, Xbox Game Pass, PC, and Switch 2

Sega and Atlus have officially confirmed the release schedule for Persona 4 Revival, the highly anticipated Unreal Engine 5 remake of the beloved 2008 JRPG. The game is set to launch on February 18, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store.

For Xbox players, Persona 4 Revival will be available on day one through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The game will also support Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing players to continue their progress across compatible Xbox and PC platforms.

A Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned for May 20, 2027, giving handheld players a chance to experience the revamped mystery RPG a few months after its initial release.

Persona 4 Revival is not simply a remake of the original PlayStation 2 release. Instead, Atlus is rebuilding Persona 4 Golden, the expanded and enhanced version of the game first released in 2012. That means players can expect the additional story content, features, and improvements from Golden to serve as the foundation for this new version.

The remake brings the story of the Investigation Team back to life with modern visuals, smoother gameplay systems, updated combat, and improved dungeon exploration. Atlus appears to be positioning Persona 4 Revival alongside its more recent modern entries, taking lessons from Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Royal to make the experience feel fresh for both longtime fans and newcomers.

Set in the quiet rural town of Inaba, Persona 4 Revival follows a group of high school students who become wrapped up in a strange murder mystery connected to a mysterious TV world. The original game earned lasting praise for its mix of turn-based battles, supernatural storytelling, character-driven relationships, and everyday school-life simulation.

With the remake, Atlus is expanding Social Links, refining progression, and giving the cast and world a visual overhaul designed for current-generation hardware. The goal appears to be a faithful but modernized version of one of the most celebrated entries in the Persona series.

Animation studio MAPPA is handling all in-game anime cutscenes for Persona 4 Revival. The studio’s involvement was confirmed during Anime Expo 2026, adding another major point of interest for fans of anime-style presentation.

This marks a significant step for the studio in game production, as it previously contributed to Persona 5 Royal by producing its opening movie. For Persona 4 Revival, however, MAPPA is taking on a much larger role by producing the game’s full set of anime cutscenes.

The Japanese voice cast from previous versions of Persona 4 is returning unchanged, which should please longtime fans who are attached to the original performances.

The English voice cast, however, has been fully replaced. Nazeeh Tarsha will voice the protagonist, joined by Paul Castro Jr., Anne Yatco, Brianna Knickerbocker, and several other new performers taking on key roles across the Investigation Team.

Persona 4 Revival is shaping up to be one of Atlus’ biggest releases of 2027. With a confirmed February launch, day-one Game Pass availability, a later Switch 2 release, upgraded presentation, and expanded gameplay systems, the remake is likely to attract both longtime Persona fans and players discovering Inaba’s mystery for the first time.

Persona 4 Revival launches February 18, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The Nintendo Switch 2 version arrives on May 20, 2027.
