Oxtak Introduces Moneypenny: The AI Voice Recorder That Summarizes Meetings and Translates in Real Time

Oxtak has introduced the Moneypenny, a new AI-powered voice recorder designed for people who spend their days in meetings and need reliable notes fast. Unveiled at CES 2026, the Moneypenny is set to launch with a $249 MSRP, with pre-orders expected to open in February 2026.

At its core, the Oxtak Moneypenny is built to capture conversations and instantly turn them into usable information. It can generate meeting summaries, produce full transcriptions, and even let users ask questions about what was discussed. For teams working across languages, the device also supports real-time voice translation during meetings, making it useful for international calls, client sessions, and multilingual workplaces.

One of the standout features is its flexibility with AI. The Moneypenny supports multiple popular AI services for summaries, translations, and Q&A, including Claude, Deepseek, Gemini, Grok, and OpenAI. Access to these AI features requires a paid annual subscription, with plans ranging from $39 to $399 per year depending on the tier. Once recordings are made, they’re automatically synchronized to Oxtak’s service, so users can review audio, summaries, and translations from Oxtak’s smartphone apps or on the company’s website.

For users who prefer more control, Oxtak also allows the Moneypenny to work with third-party AI large language models using an API key. That means you’re not locked into a single AI provider if your workflow depends on a specific model. On the business side, an Enterprise edition is planned for organizations that want a fully local setup, allowing companies to run the AI processing on internal servers rather than relying on cloud-based services.

Hardware-wise, the Moneypenny is built like a compact meeting companion. It uses dual MEMS microphones to record conversations, and it includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to support its real-time features. Translations can be shown directly on the device through a 4-inch color touchscreen, and playback is handled through an integrated speaker. Oxtak also notes that wireless microphones can be paired with the recorder, which could help in larger rooms or when multiple speakers are spread out.

Inside, the device is powered by an ARM Cortex-A53 processor and runs a customized operating system. It includes 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage for handling recordings and on-device performance. A 2,000 mAh battery powers the unit, housed in a slim body measuring 123 x 80 x 12 mm (4.8 x 3.1 x 0.5 inches). For privacy and protection, a fingerprint scanner is built in to help keep recordings and data secure.

With AI meeting summaries, live translation, transcription, and support for third-party LLMs via API key, the Oxtak Moneypenny is positioning itself as a practical tool for professionals who want faster follow-ups, clearer documentation, and less time spent writing notes after every call.
