OPPO Pad 3 (or OnePlus Pad 2) tipped to launch with custom display with several upgrades over predecessor

Upcoming Tablet Launch: The Successor to OnePlus Pad with Enhanced Features

A new tablet is expected to hit the global market in 2024, potentially making waves under the OnePlus brand. However, there’s an interesting twist—this device may first appear in China as the OPPO Pad 3, given the close relationship between OPPO and OnePlus.

The new slate is rumored to retain the unique 7:5 aspect ratio of its predecessor, but with several notable enhancements. A source with a reputation for reliable leaks has revealed that the tablet’s display will grow to 12.1 inches, making for a distinctively shaped metal unibody design that could stand out in the market.

This larger screen necessitates the development of a new keyboard dock, which is reportedly in the works along with a second-generation stylus. The new stylus is said to include a linear motor, which promises improved haptic feedback, enhancing the user experience during writing and drawing tasks.

Display improvements don’t stop with size. The future tablet may also feature an upgraded 3K resolution and increased brightness, reaching up to 900 nits. However, it’s believed to maintain a 144Hz refresh rate and keep the same camera resolutions for both front and back cameras. Additionally, there’s talk of new color options, including a gray variant alongside the traditional green.

As for other specs, the tablet seems set to sustain the battery capacity and charging capabilities of the current model from 2023. What may come as a letdown for some is the exclusion of an optical fingerprint sensor, a feature familiar to users of smartphones such as the Find X7 Ultra. Instead, the new tablet may forego biometric authentication embedded in its power button or elsewhere on the device.

Tablet enthusiasts looking forward to advancements in usability and display technology should keep an eye out for official announcements regarding this much-anticipated device. With the potential inclusion of a custom display, a new keyboard dock, and an upgraded stylus, the second iteration of the OnePlus Pad—or the OPPO Pad 3—may be set to offer a comprehensive and refreshed user experience for both productivity and entertainment use.
