Oppo has launched its impressive Find N5, poised to shake up the foldable smartphone market with a range of remarkable upgrades. Building on the success of the Find N3 and carrying the mantle from the OnePlus Open, this device aims to redefine expectations for foldables.
Despite OnePlus’s recent confirmation that there won’t be an Open 2 based on the Find N5, Oppo’s new flagship neatly slots into a dual role of succeeding both predecessors. When the Find N3 and OnePlus Open made their debut in October 2023, they set a new standard in the foldable arena with sleek, slim designs and impressive camera capabilities. However, with the rapid pace of innovation, Oppo has further refined its design for the Find N5.
This newest addition has slimmed down to an impressive 8.93 mm thickness, making it more compact than the Magic V3 by as much as 0.27 mm. Despite being slightly heavier at 229 g compared to competitors like the Vivo X Fold3 and Magic V3, the Find N5 packs a punch with its enhanced features.
Battery life, often a concern with foldables, gets a significant upgrade in the Find N5. It boasts a robust 5,600 mAh battery capacity that is cleverly split between two cells. This ensures longevity, with fast charging options to boot—50 W wireless and 80 W wired. While these may not eclipse the latest offerings from Vivo, they promise a quicker charge than similar models from Honor, Google, Huawei, Samsung, and Xiaomi.
With these advancements, Oppo’s Find N5 is positioning itself as a formidable contender in the foldable smartphone market, sparking curiosity and interest among tech enthusiasts worldwide.
