Oppo A7 Pro Max Leak Points to Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, Android 16, and a Massive 10,000mAh Battery
Oppo may be preparing a new budget-friendly smartphone with unusually ambitious hardware. A device believed to be the Oppo A7 Pro Max has appeared in a Geekbench listing, revealing early details about Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset, along with some surprising specifications for an entry-level model.
The phone surfaced under the model number PYC110 and appears to be running Android 16. While Oppo has not officially announced the A7 Pro Max, the benchmark entry gives a first look at what could become one of the more interesting affordable Android phones of the next generation.
According to the listing, the device uses Qualcomm’s SM4850 platform, which is expected to launch as the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5. The chipset features an octa-core CPU setup with two performance cores clocked at 2.40GHz and six efficiency cores running at 2.02GHz. This configuration suggests a familiar performance-focused and power-efficient core split designed for affordable smartphones.
Graphics are handled by the Adreno 629 GPU. While this is not expected to compete with premium mobile processors, it should provide enough power for everyday use, social media, streaming, browsing, and light gaming.
In Geekbench 6.7.1, the Oppo A7 Pro Max recorded a single-core score of 976 and a multi-core score of 2,250. Compared with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, which typically scores around 930 in single-core and roughly 2,210 in multi-core testing, the new chip appears to deliver a small but noticeable improvement.
That means the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 may not bring a major performance leap, but it should offer refined efficiency and slightly better responsiveness. For budget smartphone buyers, better battery life, smoother app switching, and improved thermal control could matter more than raw benchmark numbers.
One of the most eye-catching details is the presence of 12GB of RAM in the tested unit. That amount of memory is still uncommon in budget phones, especially in devices powered by Snapdragon 4-series chipsets. If Oppo keeps this configuration for the retail version, the A7 Pro Max could stand out strongly in the affordable Android market.
The rumored battery capacity is even more impressive. The Oppo A7 Pro Max is said to feature a huge 10,000mAh single-cell battery with support for 80W wired charging. If accurate, this would make the phone a strong option for users who prioritize long battery life, including travelers, gamers, students, and heavy smartphone users.
The display is also expected to be a major selling point. Leaks suggest a 6.78-inch flat OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. A high-refresh-rate OLED screen at this price level would make the device more appealing for video streaming, scrolling, gaming, and general daily use.
For cameras, the Oppo A7 Pro Max is rumored to include a dual rear setup led by a 50MP main sensor, paired with a 2MP secondary camera. On the front, the phone may feature a 50MP selfie camera, which would be notable for a budget-focused model. A high-resolution front camera could help the device attract users who often take selfies, record short videos, or make video calls.
At this stage, Oppo has not confirmed the A7 Pro Max, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, or any of the leaked specifications. Still, the Geekbench listing suggests that testing is already underway, meaning an official launch may not be too far off.
If the leaks prove accurate, the Oppo A7 Pro Max could become one of the most compelling budget smartphones of its generation.
