OpenAI has introduced two new models that are now available for download from the official Hugging Face space. These models, optimized with MXFP4 quantization, offer enhanced efficiency and can be seamlessly deployed across various platforms including Microsoft Azure, Hugging Face, vLLM, Ollama, llama.cpp, LM Studio, AWS, Fireworks, Together AI, and others.
The company’s aim with these models is to make AI more accessible, especially for emerging markets and sectors with limited resources. This move is set to benefit smaller organizations that might find it challenging to adopt costly proprietary models.
OpenAI explains that this initiative, coming six years after their last open-source release, reflects their commitment to making AI widely accessible and beneficial for everyone. By open-sourcing these models, they hope to lower barriers and encourage innovation across diverse sectors.
