OnePlus is expanding support for its new Strix G15 game controller, meaning it won’t stay tied to just one phone for long. While the accessory launched alongside the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra and is currently limited to that device in China, a new product listing reveals that more OnePlus smartphones are scheduled to gain compatibility soon.
According to the controller’s official store description, the Strix G15 will begin supporting additional models starting in June. The upcoming compatibility list includes the OnePlus 15, OnePlus Ace 6, OnePlus Ace 6T, and the OnePlus Turbo 6. Although the listing doesn’t spell out the exact requirements, these phones will likely need a software update to enable full controller support.
The Strix G15 is built as a telescopic controller, so it can stretch to fit different phone sizes—similar to many popular mobile gamepads designed to turn a smartphone into a handheld gaming device. That adjustable design is what makes multi-phone support possible, and it’s a key reason OnePlus can extend compatibility beyond the Ace 6 Ultra.
Where the Strix G15 really stands out is its unusual control layout. Instead of offering a full set of physical inputs like a D-pad, face buttons, and thumbsticks, it keeps things minimal with just four hardware buttons placed on the back: L1, R1, L2, and R2. These mirror the bumper and trigger controls found on standard console controllers. Everything else is handled through touch controls on the phone’s screen, which signals that OnePlus is aiming this accessory at players who prefer a hybrid setup—physical triggers for key actions while still relying on on-screen input for movement and other commands.
Connectivity is handled through USB-C, and the controller also supports passthrough charging so you can power the phone while playing. OnePlus has also designed it with extra gaming-focused touches, including a dedicated slot for the OnePlus 40W Super Freezing Point Magnetic Cooler and a built-in antenna intended to improve connection stability for online gaming. Performance claims include a 1,000Hz polling rate and a 1.8ms response time, suggesting OnePlus is positioning the Strix G15 as a responsive option for fast-paced mobile games.
In China, the OnePlus Strix G15 is priced at ¥449 (around $66 / €56) and comes in white. That pricing places it in a competitive spot, especially given that many third-party mobile controllers offer more traditional controls and sometimes cost less. For now, there’s also no official word on whether the Strix G15 will see a wider international release, but the planned expansion to more OnePlus phones suggests the company is at least testing broader demand within its own ecosystem.
