OnePlus 13R to Forego Major Battery Enhancement Found in Chinese Model

OnePlus has unveiled its latest Ace 5 series in China, featuring a standard and a Pro model. In an exciting twist, the standard version is set to make its global debut under the name OnePlus 13R. However, fans might notice a few key differences in specifications between the Chinese and global versions.

Previously, the OnePlus 12R closely mirrored the specifications of its Chinese counterpart, the Ace 3. Naturally, many expected a similar pattern with the forthcoming OnePlus 13R. Yet, OnePlus seems to have a different strategy this time around.

According to the official website, the OnePlus 13R will sport a 6,000 mAh battery, aligning with the company’s Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship that’s poised for a global launch on January 7th. In China, however, the Ace 5 boasts a more substantial 6,400 mAh battery. This discrepancy is significant, as the larger battery is a standout feature of the Ace 5, marking it as the OnePlus device with the most impressive battery capacity to date.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen such differences due to regional variations in battery sizes. A similar situation occurred with the Realme GT 7 Pro, which featured a larger 6,500 mAh battery in China but a smaller 5,800 mAh version in India. These changes often happen due to differing regional standards and requirements.

For the OnePlus 13R, because it shares the same teaser webpage as the OnePlus 13, it’s plausible that there might be an update oversight regarding battery specifications. Regardless, the unveiling of the OnePlus 13R promises to keep tech enthusiasts and fans eagerly awaiting its global release.
