NVIDIA’s Latest Driver Supercharges Call of Duty: MW4, Gears of War: E-Day, and Cyberpunk 2077 with Smarter Shader Delivery and Next-Gen DLSS AI

NVIDIA’s latest Game Ready Driver brings major RTX upgrades for Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Phantom Blade Zero and more

NVIDIA has released a new GeForce Game Ready Driver packed with performance upgrades, AI-powered graphics improvements and important bug fixes for RTX GPU users. The update adds support for Microsoft Advanced Shader Delivery in select games, expands DLSS technology across several major releases and prepares Cyberpunk 2077 for a significant visual and performance boost with its upcoming update.

One of the biggest highlights is Cyberpunk 2077, which is set to receive a major update on October 22. The update will bring DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation to the game, giving supported GeForce RTX systems a major frame-rate advantage. Cyberpunk 2077 will also upgrade its existing DLSS Multi Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction and Super Resolution features to newer second-generation AI models.

For players who enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing, ray tracing and high-end visual settings enabled, this could be a meaningful improvement. The updated DLSS suite is designed to deliver smoother gameplay, sharper image quality and better overall responsiveness, especially on newer RTX hardware.

The new Game Ready Driver, listed as GRD 621.01, is also optimized for several upcoming and recently updated titles, including Phantom Blade Zero, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, NBA 2K27, Cyberpunk 2077 and Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown. NVIDIA says the driver is designed to provide the best gaming experience for titles using RTX and DLSS technologies.

Another major addition is Microsoft Advanced Shader Delivery support. This feature is aimed at reducing one of the most annoying parts of modern PC gaming: long shader compilation waits. Instead of forcing players to sit through lengthy shader preparation screens or deal with stutter while shaders compile during gameplay, Advanced Shader Delivery can provide precompiled shaders tailored to a player’s hardware and driver setup.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Gears of War: E-Day are among the games receiving support for this technology. For players, that means faster first-time launches, less waiting and smoother gameplay from the start. In large, fast-paced games where performance consistency matters, this could make a noticeable difference.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is also getting strong RTX support. The game’s campaign centers on a major conflict on the Korean Peninsula after North Korea launches a large-scale invasion, threatening global stability. Players follow a young squad of South Korean soldiers fighting to survive on collapsing front lines, while Captain Price operates in the shadows in a more personal battle.

The game began early access on October 16, followed by DMZ early access on October 18, with the global multiplayer launch set for October 23. Across all modes, DLSS Super Resolution will help improve performance and image quality. GeForce RTX 40 Series users can enable DLSS Frame Generation for additional frame-rate gains, while GeForce RTX 50 Series systems can use DLSS Dynamic Multi Frame Generation for even higher performance scaling. NVIDIA Reflex will also be available on all GeForce RTX systems to help reduce PC latency.

Phantom Blade Zero is another major title supported by the new driver. Developed by S-GAME, the action game follows Soul, a swordsman framed for murdering his master. Gravely injured and left with only sixty-six days to live, he travels through the Wulin while hunted, trying to uncover a conspiracy that has consumed the martial world.

Launching October 28 for GeForce RTX and RTX Spark devices, Phantom Blade Zero will support DLSS 4.5 with Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. The PC version will also feature path-traced lighting and effects, enhanced further by DLSS Ray Reconstruction. For players looking for cinematic visuals and fast combat, the combination of path tracing and AI-powered upscaling could be one of the game’s biggest technical highlights.

NBA 2K27 is also part of this driver’s broader RTX push. The game recently introduced DLSS 5, improving visual details such as textures, skin rendering, contact shadows and hair. Its Season 2 update added a newer, faster DLSS 5 AI model that can increase frame rates by up to 1.4 times on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, RTX Spark laptops and GeForce NOW. NVIDIA says the model is now 10 times faster overall than the earlier version shown earlier this year.

Planet Zoo 2 has also received DLSS improvements. Frontier Developments’ zoo simulation sequel expands the series with new creative tools, global zoo management and new animal types, including fully aquatic and flying species. A recent update added DLSS 4.5 features such as Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Super Resolution. These upgrades give players more performance headroom to enable ray-traced reflections, shadows and global illumination, making zoos and animals look more immersive and realistic.

THE FINALS has also received attention with its major annual PRIME TIME update. On GeForce RTX GPUs and RTX Spark systems, RTXGI can use hardware-accelerated ray tracing to produce richer and more realistic global illumination. The game already supports DLSS Super Resolution, Frame Generation and NVIDIA Reflex, with Multi Frame Generation added later. Through NVIDIA’s app, players can upgrade these DLSS integrations to newer AI models, improving image quality and boosting performance while also enabling DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation.

The latest driver also fixes several gaming-related problems. Wuthering Waves should no longer crash during gameplay when NVIDIA Freestyle filters are used with DLSS Frame Generation enabled. Star Citizen receives a fix for a crash that could occur when using the Vulkan API. Surviving Mars also gets a fix for crashes that could appear after relaunching the game following an update to R595 drivers.

Several general display and system issues have been addressed as well. NVIDIA fixed a problem where QHD monitors running at 360 Hz could show occasional black flashes during gameplay. Another fix targets a bug where FPS could drop to 320 FPS while gaming on a 360 Hz G-SYNC Pulsar monitor. Meta Horizon Link streaming freezing over USB has also been addressed, along with intermittent dimming seen on certain Asus notebooks after updating to R620 drivers.

Overall, this new NVIDIA Game Ready Driver is a strong update for GeForce RTX owners. Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming DLSS 4.5 upgrade, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s Advanced Shader Delivery support and Phantom Blade Zero’s path-traced RTX features all point toward smoother performance, better visuals and shorter wait times.

For PC gamers using RTX hardware, the update is worth installing, especially for those planning to play the latest DLSS-supported releases. With improved shader handling, new AI models and a useful batch of bug fixes, NVIDIA’s newest driver should make day-to-day gaming feel faster, cleaner and more polished.
