Nvidia is celebrating Gears of War: E-Day with a one-of-a-kind GeForce RTX 5080 giveaway
Nvidia is turning up the excitement for Gears of War: E-Day with a special GeForce Summer Nights promotion, giving fans a chance to win a custom GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition graphics card. This is not a standard GPU release or retail model. It is a unique RTX 5080 wrapped in Gears of War: E-Day artwork, making it a rare collector’s item for both PC gamers and longtime Gears fans.
Only one custom GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition card will be given away, which makes the promotion especially competitive. Fans who want to enter can participate through Nvidia GeForce posts across major social platforms, including X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, Reddit, and Discord.
To join the giveaway, users need to comment with the hashtag #RTXPowersPlay on eligible Nvidia GeForce posts. Nvidia is also tying the promotion to a Gears of War takeover hosted by GeForce presenter @GeForce_JacobF, which fans will need to watch live as part of the event. Full giveaway rules and eligibility details are available through Nvidia’s official GeForce channels.
The giveaway also highlights Nvidia’s partnership with the developers of Gears of War: E-Day, which is bringing a range of RTX-powered features to the PC version of the game. Players with supported Nvidia graphics cards can expect advanced visual and performance technologies designed to make the game look sharper, run smoother, and feel more responsive.
Gears of War: E-Day will support DLSS Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi-Frame Generation, both part of DLSS 4.5. Nvidia Reflex will also be included to help reduce input latency, which should be especially useful during fast-paced combat.
The game is also making heavy use of modern ray tracing features. It will include hardware ray-traced shadows, global illumination powered by Unreal Engine 5’s Lumen system, and Nvidia MegaLights technology. Built on Unreal Engine 5.8 and DirectX 12, Gears of War: E-Day is shaping up to be a demanding PC release aimed at modern gaming hardware.
Upscaling will not be limited to Nvidia GPUs. The developers have also confirmed support for AMD FSR, Intel XeSS, and Unreal Engine’s built-in TSR technology. That means players using a wide range of graphics cards should still have access to performance-boosting upscaling options.
However, there is one major hardware requirement to note: Gears of War: E-Day will require a GPU with hardware ray tracing support. According to the developers, graphics cards without dedicated ray tracing hardware will not be able to run the game, even on the lowest settings. The GeForce RTX 2060 is expected to meet the minimum requirement, making it one of the oldest supported Nvidia GPUs for the game.
To improve the experience at launch, Gears of War: E-Day will also feature Advanced Shader Delivery. This system pre-compiles shaders before players start the game, helping reduce the stutter that can often appear during first-time gameplay on PC. At launch, this feature will work through the Microsoft Store and Xbox PC app, with support for additional platforms planned later.
Gears of War: E-Day is scheduled to launch on October 6. Players who pre-order the game or subscribe to PC Game Pass will get early access to the open beta starting August 6.
With a custom RTX 5080 giveaway, DLSS 4.5 support, ray tracing, Unreal Engine 5.8 visuals, and broad upscaling options, Gears of War: E-Day is already becoming one of the most anticipated PC gaming releases of the year.
