Nubia’s next flagship camera phone is almost here. The Z80 Ultra is scheduled to launch in China on October 22, 2025, and the company has now revealed the core specs that set the stage for a powerful photography and performance-focused device.
At the heart of the Z80 Ultra is a custom 35 mm Light and Shadow Master 990 main unit designed to capture detailed, nuanced images. It’s joined by a super‑wide 18 mm ultrawide and a 15 cm telephoto, giving shooters a versatile trio for everyday scenes, sweeping landscapes, and distant subjects. Nubia says the entire system is enhanced by AI-driven features, and an optional photography kit will be available for those who want a more professional setup straight from their phone.
Up front, the Z80 Ultra features a 6.85-inch X10 display with a silky 144 Hz refresh rate that should make scrolling and gaming feel effortless. The panel also supports 2,592 Hz PWM dimming, aimed at reducing flicker for more comfortable viewing.
Powering the experience is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with fast UFS 4.1 storage and LPDDR5X RAM. While this phone is built for imaging, Nubia notes it uses the same game engine as the RedMagic 11 Pro, signaling optimized performance for graphics-heavy titles and smooth, sustained gameplay.
Battery life looks equally ambitious. A large 7,200 mAh cell supports 90 W wired fast charging and 80 W wireless charging, promising quick top-ups whether you’re plugged in or going cable-free.
Pricing and global availability haven’t been announced yet, but more details are expected around the official debut.
