Norman Reedus Teases Kojima Productions’ OD at Comic-Con, Set for a 2027 Launch

San Diego Comic-Con’s first licensed international edition in Málaga brought out the crowds, and AMC’s The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon panel was a standout. Moments before joining Melissa McBride on stage, Norman Reedus shifted the spotlight from Season 3 to his fast-growing footprint in gaming—and to Hideo Kojima’s mysterious new horror project, OD.

Reedus, who returns as Sam Porter Bridges in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, has long been part of Kojima’s creative orbit. Asked about OD, the Xbox Game Studios-backed title that has gamers on edge, he couldn’t hide his excitement. He praised the cast and singled out Udo Kier, recalling their past collaboration on a John Carpenter-led Masters of Horror project and calling Kier one of the most fascinating people he’s ever met.

Kojima Productions recently stoked anticipation with a chilling OD teaser titled KNOCK during its 10th anniversary livestream, Beyond The Strand, and also unveiled the first poster for Physint. Reedus shared a compelling bit of insider context about the teaser’s standout moment referencing a “fluffy pink bunny.” According to him, that odd phrase taps into real vocal warm-up exercises—proof that even a minimal snippet can carry unnerving intensity in Kojima’s hands. Reedus believes the finished game will be genuinely terrifying, shaped with the meticulous, unmistakable touch fans expect from the creator.

While OD remains shrouded in secrecy, the project already has strong genre credentials. It’s co-written with Jordan Peele and positioned as an immersive dive into photorealistic horror. Early vibes are drawing comparisons to the legendary P.T. demo from 2014, crafted by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro under the 7780s Studios banner—a benchmark many still point to as the pinnacle of interactive dread.

OD is targeting a 2027 release window, giving Kojima Productions ample time to refine its concept and lean into next-gen tech. With Reedus’s enthusiasm, a powerhouse creative team, and a teaser that has fans dissecting every frame, the stage is set for one of the most talked-about horror games of the decade. For now, all eyes are on Kojima’s next reveal—because if KNOCK is any indication, the door to something truly unsettling is about to open.
