Next-Gen Power Supply: Embracing ATX 3.1, PCI-E 5.1, and 1650 Watts

ASRock, a prominent name in the hardware industry known for its motherboards, graphics cards, mini-PCs, and gaming monitors, is now stepping into the power supply unit (PSU) market. With an impressive debut, ASRock has unveiled a total of 17 new PSU models, ready to cater to both enthusiasts and those on a budget.

ASRock has emphasized that these PSUs are designed and developed entirely in-house, ensuring quality and innovation. The company has taken full control of the production process by renting and managing factories where everything is crafted to the highest standards.

These new PSUs are fully compliant with the latest Intel ATX 3.1 and PCI-E 5.1 specifications. This gives them the muscle to power next-gen graphics cards, managing peak power loads ranging from 200-235%. Users can expect consistent, reliable performance from the 12V-2×6 cables capable of delivering up to 600W to heavy-duty GPUs.

The new PSU lineup is categorized into several families including Taichi, Phantom Gaming, Steel Legend, and Challenger—each distinguished by unique features and power capacities.

The Taichi PSUs are the flagship products, featuring two whopping models with capacities of 1650W and 1300W. Both are 80 Plus Titanium-rated and boast Cybenetics LAMBDA A+ ultra-quiet certification. Made with 100% Japanese capacitors and advanced components like Infineon CoolMOS and SiC SBD, these units are engineered for top-notch performance and reliability.

On the high end, the Phantom Gaming series includes five units, of which two models have launched. These power supplies offer increments of 750W, 850W, 1000W, 1300W, and 1600W. They are equipped with 80 Plus Gold efficiency, Cybenetics Platinum and Gold ratings, and LAMBDA A acoustic certification. Each features all-Japanese capacitors, ensuring durability and performance under stress.

Moving to the mid-range, the Steel Legend series offers four models with capacities of 650W, 750W, 850W, and 1000W, two of which are already available. They come in sleek Steel Black and Steel White editions and are rated for 80 Plus Gold efficiency. These models also hold Cybenetics Platinum & Gold ratings and are compact, fully modular units designed for seamless cable management.

Finally, the Challenger Series introduces six PSUs with both 80 Plus Gold and 80 Plus Bronze ratings. Users can choose from the 550W, 650W, and 750W options in Bronze, or the 650W, 750W, and 850W options in Gold. These non-modular units are equipped with 120mm golf blade fans to combine effective cooling with reduced noise.

ASRock is offering a generous warranty period, with the Taichi, Phantom Gaming, and Steel Legend series covered for 10 years, while the Challenger series comes with a 5-year warranty. This impressive range of PSUs reflects ASRock’s commitment to quality and innovation, adding another dimension to their already versatile product portfolio.
