The buzz around the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT GPUs is gaining momentum as fresh leaks reveal impressive gaming performance that stands toe-to-toe with NVIDIA’s RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4080 Super, especially when ray tracing is factored in. If you’ve been tracking the discussions surrounding the Radeon RX 9070 XT, you’ll know this card is eagerly anticipated for its potential to challenge its competition and predecessors.
Recently, performance numbers emerged from a user on the Chiphell forum, unveiling how the Radeon RX 9070 XT handles two popular games, Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong. When put side by side with NVIDIA’s offerings, the RX 9070 XT delivers performance comparable to the RTX 4070 Ti Super in Cyberpunk 2077. Despite the original post being deleted, screenshots have circulated that provide some insight.
In tests conducted with ray tracing enabled and without upscaling, the RX 9070 XT shows it can hit 85 fps at 1080p, 52 fps at 1440p, and 26 fps at 4K. These results closely match the RTX 4070 Ti Super, though with some variance. While the RTX 4080 Super edges out with 19% better performance at 1080p, 25% at 1440p, and 23% at 4K, the RX 9070 XT showcases strong competitiveness.
In another round of tests, the RX 9070 XT met the RTX 4080 Super head-on, yielding 97 fps at 1080p, 73 fps at 1440p, and 30 fps at 4K. This highlights a minimal performance gap of 2-10% between the RX 9070 XT and RTX 4080 Super depending on the resolution, particularly widening at higher settings.
Moreover, in comparison to the RTX 4070 Ti Super, the RX 9070 XT clocks in roughly 7-11% faster. These outcomes are noteworthy considering they were achieved with ray tracing in play and at native resolutions.
While these numbers fuel excitement, it is wise to approach them cautiously, given the lack of verifiable evidence and only a few screenshots supporting these claims. With the official launch just ten days away, the anticipation builds, and more confirmed details are expected to surface, shedding light on whether the RX 9070 XT lives up to the hype.
