Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone is generating excitement as it promises to incorporate a complex array of components, ensuring durability and seamless functionality. As the tech giant works diligently, it’s evaluating various component samples from different supply chain partners. Earlier this year, reports hinted that Apple might have zeroed in on Samsung as the likely supplier for its foldable displays. However, decisions regarding other internal components are still pending, with unnamed partners submitting samples for further analysis.
A mountain of components must be swiftly assessed and sanctioned if Apple intends to stick to its anticipated launch timeline of the second half of 2026. According to insights from China Securities Taurus, a source linked to Apple’s supply chain mentioned a target shipment figure for the foldable device. This unnamed supplier has a history of providing Apple with parts and hopes to be chosen for this innovative product.
The expected high price of the foldable iPhone, estimated between $2,000 and $2,500, suggests limited initial shipments. However, securing initial orders could position this supplier favorably for future iterations of the foldable iPhone. Although Apple has not yet started the components’ evaluation process, it will soon begin the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase.
While Samsung is currently the only highlighted supplier, it is reportedly developing new panel technology not yet seen in its Galaxy Z Fold series. There is much anticipation to see how this new technology will differentiate itself from rivals. With the launch slated for late 2026, the tech world waits eagerly to witness what Apple will unveil.
