MSI Releases Intel PR5 BIOS With Microcode 0x114 + ME Firmware 19.0.0.1854 v2.2 For Its Z890 Motherboards 1

MSI Unveils Latest Intel PR5 BIOS with Enhanced Features for Z890 Motherboards

Intel has rolled out the Planned Release 5 BIOS update for certain MSI Z890 motherboards, aiming to enhance gaming performance significantly. This new update is available on the MSI MEG Z890 ACE and MPG Z890 Carbon WiFi models. It comes equipped with the latest Microcode 0x114 and Management Engine (ME) firmware 1854 v2.2, expected to boost stability and offer optimal performance for the Core Ultra Series 2 processors.

The inclusion of this firmware update indicates Intel’s ongoing commitment to fine-tuning their hardware. While the previous version, Intel PR4, also had Microcode 0x114, it appears it wasn’t fully optimized. The updated ME firmware 1854 v2.2 is a step forward in addressing these performance gaps, though concrete improvements in gaming remain to be seen.

However, it’s important to note that this BIOS update hasn’t yet been widely adopted across all Z890 motherboards. Currently, MSI has released it only for two models, and flagship products like the MEG Z890 GODLIKE are still awaiting updates. The new BIOS version, marked as ‘7E22v1A41’, was made available on December 27th, weighing 9.98 MB in size. This follows closely on the heels of its predecessor ‘7E22v1A4’, which debuted just a couple of days earlier.

While Intel fans eagerly anticipate the improvements these updates promise, actual performance gains in gaming have been minimal thus far. Some users report receiving even newer firmware than what’s broadly mentioned, hinting at an ongoing evolution. Nonetheless, these updates might not yet produce the dramatic enhancements gamers were hoping for when investing in the Core Ultra 200 chips.

As we step into January, there’s a possibility for further developments. Users and tech enthusiasts are closely watching Intel’s next moves, hopeful for meaningful enhancements in future firmware releases. Keep an eye out for more updates as the tech giant continues to refine its offerings for gamers.
