MSI Unveils First Triple-Mode QD-OLED Monitor With 4K 360Hz, 1440p 520Hz, and 1080p 680Hz Modes

MSI is preparing to show off what could be the world’s first triple-mode gaming monitor, giving players the ability to switch between three different resolution and refresh-rate combinations depending on the type of game they are playing.

The new MSI MPG OLED 322URDX36 is a flagship QD-OLED gaming monitor designed for both high-end visual quality and ultra-fast competitive performance. While dual-mode gaming monitors have started gaining attention recently, MSI is pushing the concept further with a display that supports three performance modes: 4K at 360Hz, 2K at 520Hz, and 1080p at 680Hz.

That flexibility could make the MPG OLED 322URDX36 one of the most versatile OLED gaming monitors on the market. For players who want sharp visuals, rich detail, and a more cinematic experience, the 4K 360Hz mode should be ideal for single-player titles, open-world games, racing games, and visually demanding releases. Competitive gamers, meanwhile, can drop the resolution to 2K at 520Hz or 1080p at an extremely fast 680Hz for smoother motion and lower perceived input latency in esports titles such as shooters, MOBAs, and fast-paced multiplayer games.

The monitor’s biggest highlight is its QD-OLED panel, which is based on RGB Penta Tandem technology. This is described as a fourth-generation Samsung panel that uses five RGB layers to improve brightness, color performance, and overall image quality. MSI says the RGB stripe sub-pixel layout is designed to reduce color fringing while maintaining clear text, an important upgrade for users who want to use the monitor not only for gaming but also for productivity, browsing, and content creation.

Another notable feature is MSI’s DarkArmor film. According to MSI, this layer can improve black levels by up to 40% while also helping protect the screen against scratches. Since OLED displays are known for deep blacks and strong contrast, the added enhancement could make dark scenes look even more dramatic, especially in HDR games and movies.

The MPG OLED 322URDX36 also includes several modern gaming display features. MSI has confirmed NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility, which should help reduce screen tearing and improve smoothness when paired with supported graphics cards. The monitor also includes MSI’s AI Care sensor and AI Navigator features, although full details on how these functions will work on this specific model have not yet been fully shared.

Connectivity appears to be another strong point. The display is equipped with a DisplayPort 2.1 connection offering up to 80 Gbps of bandwidth, making it better suited for extremely high refresh rates at demanding resolutions. The monitor also carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification, which points to strong HDR performance with deep blacks and high contrast. In addition, it has VESA ClearMR 18000 certification, indicating excellent motion clarity for high-speed gaming.

MSI plans to showcase the MPG OLED 322URDX36 at Computex, where more details are expected. Pricing and availability have not been announced yet, but given its QD-OLED panel, triple-mode design, DisplayPort 2.1 support, and premium gaming certifications, this monitor is likely to target the high-end gaming display market.

If MSI delivers on its claims, the MPG OLED 322URDX36 could become a standout option for gamers who want one monitor that can handle everything: stunning 4K visuals, ultra-smooth 2K gameplay, and blisteringly fast 1080p competitive performance.
