Mouse Computer Debuts Sleek M2 2-in-1 Tablet with 12.6″ OLED, Intel i5-1335U, 16GB RAM, and 512GB Storage

Mouse Computer has introduced a new 2-in-1 tablet PC in Japan aimed squarely at anyone considering a Surface Pro-style device. Called the M2 2-in-1 (model M2-ICU01BK-A), it’s built around a 12.6-inch OLED display and an Intel Core i5-1335U processor, giving buyers the flexibility to use it as a touch-first tablet with a pen or as a compact notebook with its detachable keyboard.

At the heart of the M2 is Intel’s Core i5-1335U, a chip that can boost up to 4.6 GHz and uses a hybrid design with 2 performance cores and 10 efficiency cores for a total of 12 threads. Mouse Computer pairs that processor with 16 GB of LPDDR5-6400 memory and a 512 GB NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD. Out of the box, it runs Windows 11 Home, with an option to choose Windows 11 Pro for users who need business-focused features.

Connectivity is practical for a modern tablet PC. The M2 includes two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports, and both can be used for charging, which makes it easier to plug in power from either side. Wireless support includes Wi‑Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.0.

The highlight is the 12.6-inch OLED panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution, targeting users who care about sharp text, clean contrast, and rich colors. The display supports 10-point multitouch and pen input with 4,096 pressure levels using an MPP-compatible stylus (Microsoft Pen Protocol). Mouse Computer also lists strong color coverage, at 108% NTSC and 99% Adobe RGB, suggesting it could appeal to creators and anyone who wants more accurate color for photo work and media viewing. Maximum brightness hasn’t been shared yet.

For cameras, the M2 includes a 5 MP front-facing webcam for calls and a 13 MP rear camera for quick scans or photos on the go. A detachable keyboard comes included, featuring a JIS Japanese layout and a large touchpad. Mouse Computer specifies an 18.98 mm key pitch and 1.9 mm key travel, which may matter to buyers who type a lot and want a more laptop-like feel from a tablet setup.

Battery capacity is rated at 35 Wh, with up to around 5 hours of video playback. Charging is handled by the included 45 W USB-C PD charger, with a stated recharge time of about 3 hours. In terms of size and weight, the M2 measures 285.7 × 183.9 × 8.9 mm and weighs 1.26 kg, positioning it as portable, though not ultra-light compared with some premium detachables.

Pricing starts at 159,800 yen (around $1,000), and it’s available to order through Mouse Computer. For shoppers comparing similar 2-in-1 OLED tablet PCs, it’s worth noting that some competing models may use ARM-based processors, which can affect compatibility with certain Windows 11 apps, drivers, and peripherals. The M2’s Intel-based approach keeps it aligned with the traditional Windows software ecosystem, which remains a key deciding factor for many buyers.
