Motorola is rumored to be gearing up for the release of a third foldable smartphone within its Razr 50 series. While the tech world is already familiar with the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra, new insights suggest that a Razr 50s might be on the horizon.
This year has seen a flurry of Motorola device launches, with just two of them being foldables. These foldable models—known globally as the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra—are branded differently in North America as the Razr 2024 and Razr 2024 Plus. However, enthusiasts may soon see a new addition to this lineup.
Recent certification by HDR10+ has revealed a device named the Razr 50s. While the certification details are sparse and only confirm Motorola Mobility LLC as the manufacturer, it can be deduced that the Razr 50s will sport at least one HDR10+ compatible display, akin to its sibling devices.
The specifics about the Razr 50s remain largely under wraps, including the potential features of its cover display. Nevertheless, considering the established Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra cater to mid-range and flagship markets respectively, the “s” model could be positioned as a more budget-friendly option. This strategic move would align Motorola against competitors like the Nubia Flip 5G and Blackview Hero 10, which have lowered the entry cost of owning a foldable smartphone to below $500.
As anticipation builds, tech enthusiasts and potential buyers are keen to see what Motorola’s Razr 50s will bring to the table. Will it set new standards in budget-friendly foldable technology? Only time will tell.
