Monsters are Coming! Heads to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Game Pass on August 6
Publisher Raw Fury and developer Ludogram have confirmed that Monsters are Coming!, a roguelite strategy shooter with tower-defense action, is launching for Xbox Series X|S on August 6 through the Microsoft Store. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass at release, giving subscribers a new survival strategy adventure to jump into this summer.
Monsters are Coming! blends action roguelite progression, resource gathering, base defense, and tower-survivor gameplay into one chaotic journey. Instead of protecting a stationary fortress, players must defend a constantly moving city as it travels through a world swallowed by darkness. Every run challenges you to gather supplies, upgrade defenses, fight off relentless monster hordes, and keep the city alive long enough to reach the Ark.
The game has already been available on Windows PC through Steam since November 2025, where it has received a strong “Very Positive” reception from players. Its upcoming Xbox launch is expected to introduce the city-on-wheels survival experience to a broader console audience.
In Monsters are Coming!, humanity is on the brink of extinction, and your moving city is one of the last hopes left. The road ahead is filled with dangerous creatures, environmental hazards, powerful bosses, and difficult choices. Do you take a risky detour for rare resources, or stay close to the path and protect the city? Do you invest in stronger towers, expand your districts, or gather more fuel to keep moving?
Survival depends on how well you balance three core pillars: fortify, forage, and fight.
Players can build and upgrade their city with different town halls, defensive towers, districts, and special structures. Each run offers new opportunities to experiment with layouts and strategies. You can place archery outposts to thin out incoming enemies, add necromancer towers for darker defensive tactics, or even deploy fire-breathing dragons to keep the monsters away from the gates.
Resource management is just as important as combat. Wood keeps the engines running and improves tower efficiency, stone helps repair and rebuild damaged structures, and gold allows you to expand your rolling fortress. Since the city never stops moving, players must constantly make quick decisions while exploring the surrounding areas for supplies.
The farther you travel, the greater the danger becomes. Monsters grow stronger as the city gets closer to the Ark, forcing you to adapt your strategy, upgrade your hero, and rethink your defenses. Boss encounters add another layer of pressure, demanding smart movement, strong builds, and fast reactions.
One of the game’s most interesting twists is that the hero is not the only thing that matters. If your character falls in battle, the run does not immediately end. As long as the city still stands, you can return to the fight and continue defending humanity’s last chance. The real defeat comes only when the moving city is destroyed.
Monsters are Coming! also includes long-term progression between runs. Players can collect compasses and carry progress forward, making future attempts more manageable as they push closer to the Ark. Shelters, hidden secrets, side hordes, and rare rewards give each journey more variety and encourage exploration beyond the main path.
With its mix of tower defense, roguelite progression, action combat, and mobile city survival, Monsters are Coming! offers a fresh spin on the strategy shooter formula. Xbox Series X|S players and Game Pass subscribers can begin defending humanity’s last moving stronghold when the game arrives on August 6.
