Minisforum Refreshes AI X1 Pro Mini-PC with AMD Gorgon Point Power and a Dedicated Copilot Key

Minisforum is giving its AI X1 Pro mini PC a major refresh by becoming one of the first compact desktops to ship with AMD’s new Ryzen AI 400 “Gorgon Point” processors. Built for users who want high performance in a small footprint, the updated AI X1 Pro focuses on fast compute, strong integrated graphics, and a surprising amount of expansion for a machine this size.

At the heart of the new Minisforum AI X1 Pro is AMD’s flagship Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 APU. It pairs a 12-core CPU with Radeon 890M integrated graphics, aiming to deliver smooth productivity performance and capable gaming without requiring a discrete GPU. Minisforum also says the system can drive up to four 4K displays at the same time, making it a compelling option for multi-monitor workstations, creators, and home office power users.

Memory and storage flexibility are big selling points here. The AI X1 Pro supports up to 128 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM using two SO-DIMM slots. On the storage side, configurations can include up to three M.2 2280 slots, allowing total capacity to reach as high as 12 TB depending on drive choices. That combination makes the mini PC suitable for everything from heavy multitasking to large media libraries and local project files.

Port selection is another highlight, and it’s clearly designed with enthusiasts and advanced setups in mind. The refreshed AI X1 Pro includes two USB 4.0 ports, plus an Oculink port for connecting an external GPU dock for users who want desktop-class graphics later on. Display outputs include DisplayPort 2.0 and HDMI 2.1, giving it modern bandwidth for high-resolution and high-refresh monitors. Networking is equally well covered with two 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports, alongside Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for fast wireless connectivity.

Everyday convenience features are included too, such as a fingerprint reader for biometric sign-in and a dedicated Copilot button for quick access to AI-focused tools and features within supported Windows setups.

One practical improvement over the previous generation is power delivery. Instead of relying on a bulky external power brick, this version uses a simpler single-cable setup that plugs directly into a wall socket, which should make desk setups cleaner and travel easier.

Minisforum hasn’t announced official pricing or a firm release date yet, but the company says the new AI X1 Pro will be available worldwide soon. For anyone watching the mini PC space, this is shaping up to be a strong contender thanks to AMD’s latest Ryzen AI 400 hardware, upgraded connectivity, and the kind of expandability that’s still rare in compact desktops.
